However, the yacht can only go so far in delivering on the promise of a great charter. And here is where I believe this wonderful group of 4 professionals delivered like no other. They each were friendly, smiling, caring and fun. All the time. And when my grandson had a bit of a medical challenge they were all incredibly supportive and knew what to offer us. That was no easy feat as our daughter is a physician and was very precise in her requests.

And ah, the crew. Captain Finn is talented not only at the helm but his morning short planning session was the perfect end to breakfast and the start of the day. It was educational, fun and got us excited for the day’s adventures. He was confident at all times but also gentle and respectful to crew and guests alike. Plus, he pitched in with every kind of chore; I was amazed.

Mitchell was a true pleasure to chat with and I enjoyed sharing stories of time on the water. He was terrific with the grandchildren and always ready at a seconds notice to spring into action. But also very wise in letting anyone have space to enjoy time aboard. Combined with his great smile…every moment on deck for me was a pleasure.

Naomi was and is a joy. Hardworking and detail oriented she assembled an amazing dinner table setting for my grandson’s birthday. It was unique and a huge hit. She may be a great marine biologist but, since I used to teach a bartending course, I hereby grant her a Masters of Mixology degree for all the beverages she created for us!   I announced my favorite at the conclusion of our last evening dinner. We all enjoyed our conversations with her…and I looked forward to my morning coffee…and her fun patience with me for not needing a glass straw!

However, saving Cara for last is on purpose. I would not say I am some super-gastronome. But I enjoy great food; the entire family does. To be able to create what she did…and does…aboard the yacht. And to provide colorful delicious food while always offering something different every day…was stunning to all of us. Plus, we had items we had never had before. Just amazing. It was a week we shall never forget.

I expect none of this is news to you. How fortunate you are to have such an outstanding team. The sentiment among all of us was we were excited to arrive and had lofty expectations for the cruise. We were blown away that even those lofty expectations were exceeded in all ways. Our introduction the the BVI was…well, I am remind out of superlatives. So I shall simply conclude and wish you a wonderful summer in New England and in all your cruising adventures!

I can’t say enough about the boat or, especially, its crew. We were a group of 8 adults, with ambitions for adrenaline, adventure, nightlife, and peaceful moments in nature – all in one trip. The crew navigated us masterfully through the highlights and hidden gems of the BVI while catering to all of our goals for the trip. They were great people – smart, hilarious, and fun – and we were all friends by the end of the trip. The cooking was a highlight – our best meals of the trip were on the boat. The boat was pristine, well attended, and seemed to us the best of all worlds in Caribbean yachting: luxurious, amazing space, fully equipped, and yet capable of getting in and out of shallower areas and ensuring great access.

I cannot express how truly fantastic the crew was to us. The food was beautiful, fresh, creative, and delicious. The Chef is a genius. The First Officer made every day fun. The Chief Stewardess is spectacular. The best boat Captain is Jack. His knowledge of the history of the BVI shared with us at morning briefings was so entertaining and fun. He gave us so many options for our daily plan yet we always knew it was our trip.

Our last day was spent on SÓL going nowhere. We just wanted to be on the boat. There was nowhere better. Thank you for sharing this special vessel for charter. We are dreaming of another opportunity to enjoy!”

Speaking of meals, we enjoyed an incredible and personalized meal each time we sat at the table, as well as a different tablescape for every meal of the week!  The cuisine aboard SÓL is the best I have ever experienced aboard a charter, and the settings are the finest anywhere, each more “insta-worthy” than another.

The boat interiors are as stunning and comfortable as the deck spaces.  But, by far, the most impressive part of our week was the crew.  Their camaraderie with one another was amazing.  They seemed to genuinely love taking care of the guests, and did so with a consistent energy,  smile and sense of humor that is truly priceless.  Their ease amongst themselves allowed us all to relax and feel at home. They all brought enthusiasm to our plans, security to our activities, and we all parted as friends.

We knew that SÓL would be a fabulous yacht, but we didn’t realize that the yacht would only serve as the platform for what was to come. The crew made the experience come alive and they were absolutely wonderful. They anticipated and adapted to our needs and desires and were so engaged in creating something remarkable for my wife and me. They worked non-stop, but we got to know them personally and adore each one of them. Their talents complement one another and there is a culture formed by this small team that works seamlessly to create remarkable experiences.

Another huge surprise was the amazing food and drinks served throughout the trip. We didn’t anticipate that the Chef’s talents would consistently elicit comments from us that this is one of the best meals that we have ever enjoyed. The Chief Stewardess is at the very heart of the culture and is really the experience manager for the team. Yes, she makes amazing drinks and cares for and services our needs, but she is best at creating experiences throughout the trip that have led to wonderful memories for us. The First Officer is a hidden gem and contributes to the experience in so many ways. Captain Jack orchestrated the many stops and places we visited, as well as assembled a great team and created an evolved culture that has everyone knowing what they stand for, where they are going and how to get there. It is apparent that all of them participate in decision-making and own the outcome of their efforts. Every one of the team members contributed at mealtimes, getting drinks into our hands and special experiences on land and in the ocean, to create special memories for life for us.

We are fortunate to travel frequently and stay in many properties that are rated as some of the best in the world. Yet, this seven-day trip was the best seven days of vacation that we have ever experienced. From beginning to end, this experience was exceptional.
